The Filmmaker Preet Singh, whose got the Eye for Art
I was born in and raised in Phagwada. Just like any other boy, I had dreams, and I was ready to strive to make them happen. I wanted to create a difference in the Punjabi music industry and I made it happen. To make high quality videos, raising the standard of the industry was my goal.
Something I’ve learnt along the way is to believe in myself, and my dreams, because no one else will do it for me. Initially when I started with my career, people around me weren’t sure if I’ll be able to make it, but I did, because I never stopped believing in myself.
The filmmaking journey started with Sunanda Sharma’s songs. Her songs, “Billi Akh”, “Patake”, and “Jatt Yamla”, were the first three songs of my career.
I have come a long way, working with some of the famous singers like, Guru Randhawa, directing the whole album “Roar” of Diljit Dosanjh, and Yo Yo Honey Singh’s song “Gur Nal Ishq Mitta”
Things like automobiles, watches, shoes and sunglasses fascinate me. Although, when it comes to food, daal roti and ghee are my favourite. I do believe in simplicity, when when it comes to working on music albums, I wish to make it larger than life, something that people can admire, and appreciate.
In my early days, I struggled as well; I got a job as the third lead in a music video, but that wasn’t it for me, and I felt that… that is what pushed me to become a director and filmmaker. Never let rejection demotivate you because greater things are on the way, and I’ve come to live by this formula.
